FOUNDED 1984 – FEDERATED 1987
Club Flower: Edelweiss (Leontopodium alpine)
Edelweiss Garden Club is named to reflect the Swiss Alpine theme of our city. Founded in 1984, five residents united “to beautify the Gaylord area, meet as a group of garden lovers and chat on a weekly basis during the growing season.” The first meetings were held at Lappan’s Landscaping and Garden Center. Through fundraising and donations, our plantings continue to support the European charm downtown and throughout the city.

In the fall of 2022, the Edelweiss Garden Club planted 4600 daffodils at the Otsego County Sportsplex’s Energy Outlet. In the spring of 2023 we got to enjoy the most beautiful blooms. We invite everyone to come out in the spring to see how the daffodil project grows each year.
Have you driven downtown Gaylord in the summertime? Did you notice the beautiful gardens that decorate the courthouse lawn? The Edelweiss Garden Club has been maintaining these gardens since 19xx.
The Energy Outlet at the Otsego County Sportsplex is a 1/4 mile track that is surrounded by gardens planted and maintained by the Edelweiss Garden Club. These gardens are in need of extra hands, if you would like to volunteer we would love to have you join our club.
The Edelweiss Garden Club counts on our members to help maintain the community gardens we are associated with.
Meetings are on the second Wednesday of each month at the Otsego County Library from 4:30 - 6:30 (typically)
If we are meeting elsewhere there will be a notice on our Edelweiss Garden Club Facebook page.
We love meeting new smiles, please join us for one of our monthly meetings.
Let us know how to keep in touch with you and we will be sure to let you know when and where our next meeting will be.
